Homeschooling Moms Homeschooling Moms

Odd question not about homeschooling but about the kids...

Posted by   + Show Post

I don't need anyone to go into any details lol...just putting that out there.

But at what age did your child or do you think your child will be able to wash themselves...take a shower on their own and do a good job of cleaning themselves.

As stated...don't need any details ...just age and if it's boy or girl.

Thanks!

1 mom liked this

That depends on the maturity of the child. Some are older and some are younger. I have 7 and it came at different ages. I have 4 girls and 3 boys. The gender doesn't really play into it as much as one would think. It is all about how mentally mature your child is. If you feel that your child is old enough to take a bath or a shower on their own and do a decent job of it, then go for it.  If not, then do it when they are. All you can do is go by trial and error.

i think too sonja...it's what each MOM thinks...and when they feel comfortable as well...sure ur kid might be super genius and independent...but as  a MOM...the mommy take care of kids feelings still also play a part....thanks for your insight

All of my children started bathing themselves around age 5/6 years old.

I put up a poster on the inside of the bathroo door to remind my oldest what needs to be washed, but I still ask. She'll be 9 this summer. I have to remind her to rinse the conditioner everytime yet tho lol. I refer to the chart with my little guy (it has cartoon pictures for his sake) and he's starting to do it on his own, but he's 4 next week, so I'm still in there with him and help with is hair .

My son started at 8. But I can't help being mom and double checking even though he is 10 now. My daughter is 8 and I still have to be there to help because she is blind.
