We don't have to assess or anything.   However, we are required to..

1.   Send in a letter of intent to (continue to) homeschool.

2.  Keep a daily log of hours.. (1000 total, at least 600 being core subjects)

3.  Keep portfolio of work.

I chose number 3 but probably should have chose other. We aren't required to anything yearly. We test every 3 years, but luckily we don't even turn the results in to anyone, so I really don't know why we required to test at all.

I put virtual/private school butthat's not really true either - it was closest I guess.

We use a homeschool based charter school. i report attendance and one work sample per month and that's it.. They give me all my materials and stuff for free.

We have to do state testing once a year starting in 3rd grade, but are not required to do any kind of portfolio or any other type of reporting.

Ours is similiar.  It's through the school district and they provide all the materials (which save so much $$).  I don't have to report anything to them though - the kids just have to go in once a week.

I only have to report attendance, no test or portfolios required here. I do have to teach the basic subjects though science, social studies, reading, writing, spelling, math, and phy ed.
