The kids are bored, so I thought why not let them play shaving cream. Dh is protesting saying the bottle says "keep out of reach " of children. Do you let your kids play in it? What alternatives are there?

My mother sprayed it on the table when I was little and I finger painted in it. I do the same for my boys. It's an excellent pre-writng, sensory, fine motor skills learning tool. As long as theyre old enough to know better than to eat it, youre safe.

i use it in the classroom all the time.  It is so much fun for them and when you clean it up, it has cleaned up the table.

things to do with shaving cream....

let them paint a window

swirl some washable paint in it and let them tie dye paper (use animal shape cut-outs)

Mix it with glue and it creates a puff paint, finger paint it onto a picture as clouds

there are so many things you can do with it.  it's only a problem in large quantities (many warnings are to cover the butts of the industry), they won't like the taste it's nasty they won't eat, if they try it they'll spit it out.
