Geo matters- opinions

Has anyone used Geo Matters especially Cantering the Country or Galloping the Globe? I'm looking at those for my 2nd grader (possibly pre-k too). This year we'll be doing basic U.S. history and geopraphy since I loosely follow the state guidelines.

I'm just looking for feedback for those or any other history curriculum you and your child(ren) enjoy.

I hadn't heard of it, but from looking at the reviews online, I think it would be a good course.  I might have to get Cantering the Country for DS this year.

I have used A Trail Guide to U.S. Geography. I liked it.

(BTW one of the authors died last week at a convention--so sad!)

I heard :(

With the Trail Guide program, did you feel it was an adequate stand alone program or did you need to supplement a lot?

It has 3 levels, and you really have to pick and choose from the activities or it may be too much. The way we did it, it settled down into a routine that we did for each new state.
