What says no grammar for 9th grade?

There are several grammar texts and or workbooks for 9th grade. We use Easy Grammar: http://easygrammar.com/dtl9.html

Similes and metaphors are not grammar.

Conjunctions, Prepositions, Interjections and verbs along with the nouns, pronouns, adjectives and adverbs you listed make up the 9 parts of speech.

With 9th graders you also want to start looking at clauses (dependent and independent) and simple and coplex subjects and predicates.
