I feel the need to put a positive spin. I think we've been a bit negative lately ladies and I don't like it!

SO, what do you LOVE about homeschooling?

I'll go first. I love:

1. Having a parent-teacher conference in the mirror.

2. Knowing exactly what my son is learning.

3. Customizing an education for an individual child instead of trying to make him fit into a box.

4. Increased family time!

5. Less stress!

I love it. The home school groups are my only drama free groups and there seems to be a lot of tension lately.

I love watching my children love learning.

I love hearing daily "Mommy when is it time for school?"

I love that I probably have one of the few 7 year olds whose favorite TV shows are shark week and natures deadliest.

I love that my children are happy and not bored and in trouble.

I love that they can take as much or as little time as needed to learn something. Whether we spend 6 weeks on money or a day on multiplication.

The freedom to love my kids unconditionally and watch them pursue their natural talents and passions.

I love being able to put one thing down that they just aren't catching onto just to pick something else up that they like, so we can go back to that other thing later instead of just pushing through it and if they didn't learn it, too bad.  I find I've had to re-teach a few things they were "taught" in public school but that never clicked with them.

I love the freedom! The fact that they can learn what they want when they want & in a way best for each of them. The fact that my children get to have a childhood better then I ever had. I get to be apart of all of their lives not just when they aren't in school.

I love homeschooling because :

I know my son is eating healthy food.
I know that he is learning.
I know that at the end of the day, he still giggles and laughs.
I can teach him about God.
I can give him 100% of my time and a hug when he gets frustrated.
---- the list goes on....

Too many things to list.

What I like most is my freedom and the homeschooling community.  I have met so many great people while homeschooling.  I love being able plan our weeks and days.  I love my kids being able to study exactly what they are interested in.  I love being to share in all their experiences while learning.  I love all the field trips we are able to attend.  I love as their teacher being able to follow their lead.  I also love being able to start my own clubs and co-ops and being able to see them interact so positively with others.  I love that they are able to chose their own friends.
