Is it one's personal nature to be either fast or slow or is it a learned behvior that makes a person either fast or slow?

I think there is a big Nature aspect to it, but it also has a lot to do with what we are told, how we are treated, and how our strengths are nurtured.

Both. I think we are a product of our nature and our environment. I would say that your environment makes the biggest impact.

I think the majority of who we are is there at birth. If we have loving caregivers who recognize that we are who we are, work with our strengths, and teach us to control our weaknesses, we are very fortunate indeed!

I agree. I believe that you can be taught to go against your nature.

Nature. However, often times it is usually improved with time and practice.

Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air... Emerson

Initially it is nature, but you can be taught and you can train to improve yourself.

I think it's more a nature thing, with nurturing clearly having an influence on whether you're "acceptable" at your given pace and how you feel about yourself.  I have to say, I'm a hare with not enough patience with my tortoises, but I do try.
