Who quoted me and listed some writing links the other day??

I cannot find the post anymore, I don't even remember which post it was on.  But it started going about how to review the basics (note taking, reporting, etc) of writing before diving into school (celtic, I think it was your post I quoted or responded to about reviewing the basics).  Someone quoted me and offered some links that I wanted to look at but I was mobile so I was waiting.  And now I can't find the post :(  If anyone remembers, can you link me to it or remind me of the title of the post?  I just went through all my replies in this group over the past few weeks and couldn't find it!  It was withint the past 3 or 4 days I think.

I was trying to find that one and I can't even begin to remember which post it was in.  I wanted to remember those links as well.  I hope someone else can find it.

Have you tried the hamburger method?  http://freeology.com/graphicorgs/hamburger-paragraph-writing-form/

For informational text note-taking I use the viualize, cover & jot, reread method: http://tworeflectiveteachers.blogspot.com/2012/08/note-taking-strategies-for.html

But I add post-it notes for the areas they are having trouble understanding.  They have 4 colors of post-it note: Green is for making connections and remembering then to make sure they are accurate.  Blue is for writing down a question about a related topic (ie we are covering the water cycle and they want to ask about flooding and the water table, they use a blue post-it for that question), Yellow is for clarification and asking an on topic question, and red is for when they do not understand the topic well enough to even ask a question about it.

It was in the post about block scheduling.  It was a Necro-Bump

Thank you so much!  I didn't even see the post about block scheduling on my list of 'replies'...maybe I didn't look back far enough.  I am going to dig into these now!

What is a Necro-Bump?

 You're welcome.

A necro-bump is a long dead post that gets bumped back onto the front page.  I haven't block scheduled the boys since the very first nine weeks of last year.  I was very surprised when it showed up.  :-)
