I'm thinking of trying something this year.

I'm thinking of starting a 5 week on/1 week off system. It just make a lot more sense for us. My theory is that it will give my DD a needed break and give me time to plan the next 5 weeks.

Has anyone tried this?

I meant, we like spending time outside, too.

We do spend a lot of time outside, even when schooling.

No but it sounds interesting....I am not sure how I would do it in the summer though....we love being outside

I used to do 5 weeks on and 1 week off, but it just didn't work out for us.  I found that staying close to what the public school schedule was and having a summer off worked a lot better for us personally.

We do take frequent breaks, but they don't all equal out to a set number of on weeks/off weeks. We kind of go by the seasons and holidays.
