I will be attacking mardel's sale tomarrow to get the new calendar for school, and some curriculum stuff.

Kids decided they want owls for the class theme this year. Which is fine by me cause owls are so darn cute! lol

I also plan on hitting the stores on tax free day next month and nabbing some binders, crayons, dry erase markers, and such.

I haven't looked yet! I am just so sad for the kids that have to go back to school & are trying to enjoy their summer but every store they go to has back to school stuff up & they literally started putting it out a few weeks after school got out.

Tax free day is such a foreign idea to me, we don't have sales tax here! It's so weird to me when I am out of state (there are big malls in the state below us and big outlets in the state above us) shopping and the total is different than I added! I always forget about it because I never pay it.

I have a list going, and I ordered a few things from amazon, but I'm waiting. Our major back to school sales are mid to late August, most schools start the last week of August here, many not until after Labor Day. It's also 30 min or more to any stores that have sales, so I try to go when I'm already going out there for something.

We need notebooks, a dry erase board and markers, pencils, erasers, tinted transparencies, binder clips, brads, index cards, laminating sheets, printer paper.

We bought one of those ink refill kits, we used to use them with an old printer and got away from it, but with printing so much we've decided to try it with our new printer, it was $16 and should refill a bunch of times, hopefully it works out and we will save lots of money that way!

Don't be sad for them. When I was a kid I so loved school shopping! The start of a new school year was exciting!

I am sad for the ones that I know feel the way I felt as a child. I would start to feel sick & have a feeling of dread just from seeing the school supplies even thought I knew it was still weeks away. No child should feel that way about something that is supposed to be good for them!

I'm sorry you felt that way. Your statement leans to a whole, is my only point, and I know many (if not most) children who are very excited for the school year to start and who LOVE back to school shopping.

*shrug*

I guess we come from different worlds. My husband went to private Catholic school and he loved it (speaks very fondly of it), I went to private for elementary, then public, and enjoyed it; our daughter very much enjoyed Catholic school when she attended brick and mortar, her best friend loves her public school, my neighbors' children all enjoy the local public school... and well, you get the drift, lol.

I was wondering the aisles of Walmart today. I got a cute Alphabet for the wall.
