what are you using for science?
any grades? how do you like it?
what science have you tried that you dont like? and why?
We'll throw some Magic School bus the way of my 4 year old... we're also going to (I think) get some Charlie's Playhouse materials for prehistory/science.
Before we decided to send her to b&m school, my 12 year old was going to do physical science (Hewitt's Conceptual Physical Science, supplemented with Memoria Press' Astronomy).
Love, and always recommend, Ellen McHenry!
I am a Home Schooling, Vaccinating, Non spanking, Nightmare Cuddling, Dessert Giving, Bedtime Kissing, Book Reading, Stay at Home Mom. I believe in the benefit of organized after school activities and nosy, involved parents. I believe in spoiling my children. I believe that I have seen the village and I do not want it anywhere near my children. Now for the controversial stuff: we're Catholic, we're conservative, and we own guns (now there's no need to ask, lol). Aimee
We are doing a theme each month for Science. I am going to use Magic School Bus Kits for some of them and then stuff I have found online to supplement. I have some library books to go along with them as well. DS is in 2nd grade.
oldest DS: Astronomy
middle DS: General Science for kindergarten, Senses, weather basics, etc
youngest: magic school bus.
Apologia Anatomy. Haven't started it yet, but I'm looking forward to it
We've used Mr Q's in the past and now we're using Apologia General Science (secularly) with the student notebook and the full lab kit for 7th grade.
Astronomy at the local community college! Woohoo!! I'm so excited that I don't have to do science!
My kids are taking an engineering class at the co op. And we are doing Ellen McHenry's The Elements and really looking forward to it. We are supplementing with library books and some of Shannon's experiments.
