Anyone use Story of the World for history?

The actual story books, yes, but I wasn't thrilled with the activity book. WhenI preferred to use SOTW as one of the spines with History Odyssey

We use it as a spine, I also use the activity book and really like the ideas put out there for me.  It's on the younger side for my kids, so I add in older reading using http://classicalhouseoflearning.com/.  And I add documentaries from Netflix.

I used to but not anymore.  I prefer to do my own history.  I found the main book to not have enough history.  I wasn't impressed by it.  We have learned so much more by using library books.
