Okay so my DS is in grade 3 we are doing a report on Canada...now I have too many ideas to complete this project. One is to have like mini travel guides (you know fold the page like a fan and do it like that) have one for each Province and Territory the other was to have it like a flip book if I can find how to do them again and have little flaps you can lift up and have all the information on there... So what one is better or can you help me come up with even a better idea? The programme for homeschooling I'm using I have a teacher I am accountable to so she will be marking it but she is leaving it up to us. Both will have lots of information, such as, the capital, population, trade, flower, tree, licence plate motto, fun facts about it, sights to see, wild life... I just have so many ideas running in my head I don't know how to sort them out!

I actually like the travel guides best.   You can do flip books of anything, but making travel guides of the provinces make them feel more like destinations that you can go and see...  I would put them together in a binder or pocket notebook.   Use some tracing paper and have him trace an entire map of canada to put on the front of the pocket notebook.

After they are done, have them laminated??? you can still fold them, (iron them a bit... start with lower heat and work your way up so as to not scorch them or melt them)

I think flip book and you just gave me the best idea!  I think I will do a flip book for Disney world for my kids when we go!  Then they can practice writing!

It's a little hard to explain lapbooks. Google it. I think you'll really like the concept. You can make them for anything you want. 8)
