Harry Potter (series)!

Okay, not all kids I guess, but I do think it's great and all my children will have it read to them (I started reading the series to my own daughter when she was about 4, lol).

I am a Home Schooling, Vaccinating, Non spanking, Nightmare Cuddling, Dessert Giving, Bedtime Kissing, Book Reading, Stay at Home Mom. I believe in the benefit of organized after school activities and nosy, involved parents. I believe in spoiling my children. I believe that I have seen the village and I do not want it anywhere near my children. Now for the controversial stuff:  we're Catholic, we're conservative, and we own guns (now there's no need to ask, lol).             Aimee

I think that depends on the child. Whatever book inspires to read and explore more. For my youngest thst was Garfield comic books. He can't get enough. My oldest it was geronimo stilton. My personal favorites are roald dahlb books.

For young children - anything and everything by Arnold Lobel. Mouse Tales, the Owl series, Uncle Elephant... they are so wonderful!

For older kids - at least, girls - everything by Judy Blume. I survived adolescence thanks to 'Are you there God, it's me Margaret' and 'Tiger Eyes.'
