what curriculum did you use for kindergarten? at my husbands job he makes more in the winter so we have the money now to buy curriculum(s) for ds who will be starting kindergarten next fall. Christian curriculums are welcome as are non-religious.

We don't use a boxed all-in-one but...

for math we use Math U See (we are using the Primer for our now 5yo)
for Phonics we use Hooked on Phonics
Handwriting Without Tears
for history we use the Story of the World

The rest I build our own.

I'm using a mix of curricula pieces.

Handwriting - Handwriting Without Tears K

Mathematics - Miquon, Verbal Math Lessons

Phonics - Reading Rescue 1-2-3, Bob Books, pulling some from Phonics Pathways as needed

Music - Making Music, Praying Twice (Catholic and a beautiful program!)

Religion - misc resources; mostly saint books and other living books, coloring books, etc

Nothing formal for science and history. My son is a young kindergartner (4 years old).

I am a Home Schooling, Vaccinating, Non spanking, Nightmare Cuddling, Dessert Giving, Bedtime Kissing, Book Reading, Stay at Home Mom. I believe in the benefit of organized after school activities and nosy, involved parents. I believe in spoiling my children. I believe that I have seen the village and I do not want it anywhere near my children. Now for the controversial stuff:  we're Catholic, we're conservative, and we own guns (now there's no need to ask, lol).             Aimee

We used Sycamore I think it was called, for the oldest for K. It was a waste of money.

If I had it to do over again (oh wait, I did, with #2 and #3!) I'd just buy pieces of this and that, and supplement with lots (LOTS!) of playing, visiting libraries, parks, children's museums, educational shows, and reading together. I'd probably just get a simple math program, and maybe one of those all-in-one type workbooks like BrainQuest or Summer Bridge, for a little daily 'book work.'
