Posted by   + Show Post

A spin off on my "I hate pulling it all together."

Would you all look over what I chose?  My daughter doesn't like text books, but likes work books.  My son loves being read to doing just about anything at the moment.

History - Medieval from Beautiful Feet

Math - Saxon Algebra 1/2

Science - ScienceSaurus with DayBooks

Writing - Jump In!

Grammar - Easy Grammar Plus

Literature plus study guides - Anne of Green Gables, Call of the Wild, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Christmas Carol, The Giver, The Hobbit, Little Women, The Secret Garden, Witch of Blackbird Pond and A Wrinkle in Time.

~update~. We are also planning on watching movies of most of the books we read.  To discuss the difference between them.

History - 2 years Early American from Beautiful Feet

Phonics - McRuffy Phonics

Science - McRuffy Science

Math - Math in Focus K

Handwriting - D'Nealian Handwirting

And lots of reading books.

1 mom liked this

If I don't plan out books my daughter wouldn't read anything of her level.  This year she was surprised by a few books I had her read and even asked for the sequel if they had one.

Quoting jen2150:

Looks great.  We just listened to a wrinkle in time and my sons loved it.  My son has read most of Roald Dahl books many times over.  I have to admit I don't plan out books.  When I read one I just go pick another.  We are currently working on heidi.

I know, me too,lol.

Quoting KickButtMama:

I think it looks great, but I'm totally ignorant of

I will not have a temper tantrum nor stomp across the floor.

I will not pout, scream or shout or kick against the door.

I will not throw my food around nor pick upon another.

I’ll always try to be real good because I am the mother.

I am the mother.

I am the mother.

Beautiful Feet, Winter Promise... they always look so appealing to me. Why can't they make a secular living books package??? I spend so much time researching books related to what we are studying (reviews, age appropriate, how long would it take to complete compared to how fast our history is moving, etc).

I heard  ★excellent★  things about Math In Focus.

I do not know anything about the rest. Good Luck though. = )

I think its a good plan. I also LOVE the book list. Little Women and A Wrinkle In Time were favorites. :)

Okay I've redone and added somethings after talking with my kids.

Daughter changed science from ScienceSaurus with DayBooks to Science Fusion and call of the wild changed to The Little Princess.  Grammar changed from Eaay Grammar to Giggly Guide to Grammar.  We added some logic and she wants to add Youth Digital's MineCraft Moding class.

Son has changed McRuffy Science to Science Fusion and also said he wants to learn French so we are adding Little Pim.

I love how things change, but at lest they changed before I ordered.
