What is a good 8th grade curriculum? While I'm asking for those who have homeschooled highschoolers what did you use? I would like to stay as far away from common core as possible.

Are you looking for accredited? Faith preferences?

I am a Home Schooling, Vaccinating, Non spanking, Nightmare Cuddling, Dessert Giving, Bedtime Kissing, Book Reading, Stay at Home Mom. I believe in the benefit of organized after school activities and nosy, involved parents. I believe in spoiling my children. I believe that I have seen the village and I do not want it anywhere near my children. Now for the controversial stuff:  we're Catholic, we're conservative, and we own guns (now there's no need to ask, lol).             Aimee

Accredited and Christian based would be good.

Protestant or Catholic?

I can really only speak for Catholic providers, so if you prefer protestant, I'll bow out and let someone else take over, lol.

I assume you want an all-in-one (if you're looking for accredited), right?

I'm buying curriculum for my 8th grader but it isn't all in one nor is it accredited.

Accredited Catholic:

Seton

Kolbe Academy

Mother of Divine Grace

... all are very Catholic and integrate our faith across the board, in every subject, just as an fyi (before you invest). All are fantastic and have a great track record.

Technically schools are accredited, not curricula. Also accreditation is only as good as the reputation of the accreditation agency. IE there is one private school accreditation agency whose only rule is that the "school" have a physical address in the US.

Quote:

Accreditation means that a private school has been evaluated by and determined to meet the specific standards of an accrediting agency. Curriculum can only be accredited as part of the school program. The top agencies are the National Association of Private Schools or the National Council for Private School Accreditation.

Using a curriculum from a school that is accredited only matters if you are using the umbrella school. Just using the curriculum without the instruction/guidance of the teachers doesn’t usually help your child at all.
