I'm super psyched this morning.  I figured since we're finishing up the year, I should do some sort of evaluation for those who aren't taking standardized tests this year.  I'm not a big fan of tests, so I don't really do those throughout the year, either.  I'm pretty aware of where they are and of what they're capable, but it's always nice to do a check.  My pre-K guy knows most of his letters and is starting to get his sounds down.  :)  My 1st grader got all the way to the 5th list of Fry words, and my 2nd grader finished the entire 10 sets of Fry words.  :)  We'll have to do some math and science tests tomorrow.

Such a stress free way to start the day.  I'm sorry, Shannon--I hope things go better for you!

It took way longer than usual to do our weekly grocery shopping since the kids were fighting ver who had to help with the cart and who could help mom in her new nifty wheelchair....not that I needed any help...lol

We're going on a sugaring field trip on Saturday at our church camp.  Hopefully that helps us too.  At least they are working on our animal classifications chart now.  I was worried about scissors and glue with them when they were so wound up this morning, but maybe it's a bit of what they needed.

Quoting mem82:

It's the weather! I'm taking the kids out on a sugar maple hike tomorrow and I'm hoping it will help their frame of mind as well as mine!

Quoting bluerooffarm:

Meh.  We got reading and math done.  But they are crazy!  :/ We are taking a break for my mental health.  Hopefully we can get history and science done this afternoon.

day off... 2 sick kids. Although they don't look that sick and I think they could do something! But oh well. Tomorrow is another day!

Frustrating!!!  I have a child who is doing things and can't see the forest for the trees b/c what she is doing is essentially cheating.  I have another one who just needs a nap!!!  She is making me crazy with the whining "I can't do this".....PLEASE make this day end.  I can't even send them out to play because it is raining today.

Well we got science done and the spelling test but today has been awful and I'm about to call it done. I've got to drop ds off at MIL's house and take my poor husband to the doctor.

Day 6 of pneumonia/bronchitis making its nasty rounds. Nico has played on Reading Eggs for a bit, but that's it. Red is even home from school, as it knocked her on her butt as of Monday and she has Stanford testing next week at school, so she's resting up.

I am a Home Schooling, Vaccinating, Non spanking, Nightmare Cuddling, Dessert Giving, Bedtime Kissing, Book Reading, Stay at Home Mom. I believe in the benefit of organized after school activities and nosy, involved parents. I believe in spoiling my children. I believe that I have seen the village and I do not want it anywhere near my children. Now for the controversial stuff:  we're Catholic, we're conservative, and we own guns (now there's no need to ask, lol).             Aimee
