The last 8 years of teaching PS I didn't even use the textbooks that much. The curriculum used the grade level expectations and matched activities to that. That's kind of what I do with hsing. I use the GLEs for first grade as a guideline but I pull together my own activities and resources. I go back to the GLE list every now and then to make sure I'm covering everything.
