Planning ahead for 3rd grade....

So I'm a planner. I've already started researching and reading for 3rd grade. I was wondering what you all did and woukd suggest.

Heres what I have so far but I have a feeling it's going to change lol:

math U See Beta

bju or abeka for language arts

history k12?

Science: apologia

i feel like I'm all over the place but I need things with lesson plans as much as possible and I also want things that are going to work for him. The only thing I've ever used from the list is k12. We just can't afford to do every subject with them though.

thanks in advance.

I have been researching 3rd grade as well.  This is what we are using:

Math:  Beast Academy

Grammar and Writing:  Voyages in English

Science: Science Fusion or REAL Science

History: Story of the World:Ancients and History of US

I don't use Religious curriculum so I have no opinions on the ones you have picked out already besides the fact that I wouldn't use them.  I have heard great things about Math U See though and it really works for some kids.

My son is going into third next year also. We are using:

Math U See
Excellence In Writing
Handwriting Without Tears
First Language Lessons (grammar)
Sequential Spelling
Explode The Code (phonics)

We're also using some for a few subjects like:
The Arts (music and art)

I'm supplementing as well.
Life of Fred for supplementing with Math U See
Also I bought some Science Curriculum and we'll use it in conjunction with Amblesideonline until we've gone through it all.

It sounds like a lot I know but reallly it won't take but a few hours. The supplementing and the literature and history, geography and science are every other day. I'd like to get some foreign language in but we'll see...

I didn't homeschool my dd until the end of grade 4, and I'm only doing grade 1 for my middle boy (starting next week), but looking ahead from where we are now, my plans for his third grade year would look like this (as of now, at least, lol):

Mathematics: CLE (not attributing a grade level, because I move at his pace with skill subjects like maths and LA)

Spelling: Apples and Pears Spelling

Literature: Memoria Press literature guides and suggested reading

Science: Behold and See (Catholic Heritage Curricula) and/or Ellen McHenry

History/religion/additional literature: Connecting With History

Writing: IEW

.... or keep with what I'm doing now, and use Catholic Heritage core packs, subbing out math (for CLE) and writing (for IEW).

I am a Home Schooling, Vaccinating, Non spanking, Nightmare Cuddling, Dessert Giving, Bedtime Kissing, Book Reading, Stay at Home Mom. I believe in the benefit of organized after school activities and nosy, involved parents. I believe in spoiling my children. I believe that I have seen the village and I do not want it anywhere near my children. Now for the controversial stuff:  we're Catholic, we're conservative, and we own guns (now there's no need to ask, lol).             Aimee

We also read one fun book a week along with the book that goes along with their Writing with Ease lesson. We do Irish dancing for gym and go to art classes at the library.
