I bought those for my son's 7th birthday. He absolutely loves them. He can do them without any help and he literally will spend hours with his 8 year old sister making different things. Seriously the best birthday present ever.

They look very cool.  We built circuits the old fashioned way with wires and wirecrimpers, etc.

I got DS one for his 6th birthday (he's almost 11 now) and he opened it and was like "wow" and started ripping open the box immediately to put stuff together. He was playing with it again just recently. He messed up one of the parts (typical boy) and one supposedly just "died" (I wonder though) but we were able to replace them for free through the site. When he plays with it it keeps him busy for a long time.

What do they do exactly?

We have a set but it doesn't get used too often. Dd really enjoys it when we do get it out, so I think it will see more use once I let her on her own.
