As I am doing my research, I thought I would get your thoughts on something.

Do you prefer to school year round taking breaks throughout the year or do you prefer to school more inline with a traditional school schedule?

I would love to do year round, but it is hard to do school over the summer. We will do some review over the summer so he doesn't forget everything.

We are going to do year round. He needs together caught up badly. I don't know what they did in ps but he doesn't seem to know any of the second grade curriculum we purchased for him. We will take breaks throughout the year for down time and recharging.

Year round. It makes more sense for our family. It helps be much more relaxed.

we have been going with the traditional schedule (just started early August so we are almost done now)..... but since I am planning to have the kids do some reading and math in the summer anyway (to keep it fresh) I am considering going to more of a year round schedule......

I'll be the odd ball and say I have no interest in doing year around. Our schedule is similar to public school. We like to take the summer off to enjoy our pool, take part in summer activities around town and go on vacation. We finished our school year yesterday and will break until the end of August. I'm really looking forward to this break to just have some fun with the kids and take some trips.
