Our co-op got me in touch with our evaluator. She does it for free for those of us in the co-op, I believe that co-op pays her a retainer for a few services.
The DOE had a list of evaluators and I contacted a few of them first. The cheapest was $50 per child.
I am new to this but I have heard that co-ops can help with that.
I found mine through the local co-op. I paid $35 for 1 kid.
Quoting StanleyGirl: Okay this brings up another question. ... where do you find a co-op??? I found a few homeschool groups I found online and none of them got back to me...
I found our local fine arts co-op by word of mouth. We signed my oldest up for an art class from a flyer at a local library. The art class was in an art center in town. We found out that the art center housed a homeschooling co-op and we started asking about their classes.
The other co-op is through my church.
