A great reminder from my 5 year old

I'm new to homeschooling as my oldest is 5.  We haven't started homeschooling for the year yet, but Wyatt is anxious to start.  He pulled out an extra workbook he has the other day and wanted to do things in it.  I was trying to work with him while taking care of my 3 month old (and short on sleep as always).   I felt like he wasn't trying and I didn't have the time or patience at the moment.  I said we should put it away for now and he protested.  I said "Sweety, I don't think you're trying right now." and he said "Mommy I am trying.  But you have to teach me."

Boy was that humbling to hear.  It was an in my face reminder that sometimes he wants to learn on a different time schedule and I need to accomidate that the best I can.

What a cutie :) it will work out fine, and yes, it is a juggling act when you have little ones as well.
