I've always looked down on mothers who don't co-sleep...
I'm ashamed to say it's true. In the back of my mind, I'm thinking, what mother would want her baby sleeping away from her in another bed or even another room?! That's unnatural.
I've co-slept with all three of my kids. My oldest didn't even get her own bed until she was 3 and my younger two were 2. Even then I still co-slept most of the time. My 5yo comes to my bed every single night, lol.
Then along came my 2yo nephew....this kid! He wiggles and squirms and rolls around. I get punched with elbows and knees. He sweats and drools. I just can't do it! So next time he comes over (He's been staying for week long visits) I've vowed to train him to sleep in his own bed. I won't do CIO, instead I've resigned myself to sitting by his bed and patting his back all night :-/ Anything has got to be better than him sleeping with me though!

When my kids are newborns they sleep right next to me in the bassinet for about the first 3 months. After that they are in their own room unless they are sick then they can sleep in my room so I can keep a close eye on them.
I'm a really light sleeper and could never sleep with all my kids. Plus I feel that my bed is for my husband and I. That's our space and our time.
Although on the weekends when the kids wake up they come in our room to cuddle. I like that.
If I sent my son for a sleepover I would NOT want him sleeping in the same bed as his aunt and/or uncle.
And allowing my kids to sleep in their own room is juuuust fine.
Lol! I kow my kids were like that too

Co-sleep? Or not co-sleep?
Quoting SarahLizyB:
I'm glad it works for you, but its something I did not/will not do.
Ummm...he's 2 and co-sleeps with his mom. Why wouldn't he co-sleep with me??
And yeah, that was kind of my point. I used to look down on moms who didn't, but now since having him over I completely understand.
