Potty training my son

I am a stay at home mom and potty training my daughter was easy but potty training my son has been really hard, any helpful hints besides the cherrios in the toilet because that hasn't worked for us. He is afraid of the toilet and sits down to pee and pushes so hard but I can't get him to tell me when he has to go but he can talk and hold a convo and understands what is going on around him... I need help please

Try putting red or blue food coloring in the toilet, when he pee's the water will change color!

Be patient, he'll get it.  Pushing him about it will only cause anxiety.

I have 2 boys and as soon as they could walk I put the potty chair by our bathroom door and let them tell me when they were ready. My 1st one was a little difficult however my 2nd one was a breeze. I did not even have to do anything. In fact I had JUST bought a brand new pack of diapers (25 dollars) and that was the day he said he did not want them anymore. Go figure. Whatever you do do not push him no matter how frustrated you get as that will only discourage him. Also I had my 1st sit on his potty chair everytime I one of us went and that seemed to work out well. :) Good luck, lots of deep breaths, and remember that when all else fails SMILE :)
