Sorry Kids, Sometimes You Just Don't Come First! Mom Needs Her Sanity, Too!

Posted by   + Show Post

It's a truth few moms want to admit: We take shortcuts. Sometimes, we just don't care! It's all about survival.

Do you do any of the things these "Survivor Moms" do to get through the day with your sanity intact? Or do you have any tricks of your own to share, whether they're time-savers or mantras for dealing with any lingering mommy guilt after you've used the TV as a babysitter or fed the kids PB&J for lunch the fourth day in a row?

There's noting wrong with breakfast for dinner. In fact we are doing that Friday and my kids (including DH) are looking forward to it.

Breakfast for dinner happens quite often in my home.

My child rarely goes a day without a bath. Today being one of the exceptions because I just drove back from a memorial last night and didnt get in until late. So I am exhausted. I hardly ever make breakfast for dinner, but I do get takeout on occassion. I wait until my hubby can at least keep one child so that I can go grocery shopping. TV is sometimes nice to have so that I can just relax for a minute or get something done.

We don't do baths everyday, I'll sit him down with noisey, flashy toys so I can take a break

I understand this. I can't think of any off hand, but yes sometimes I just try to get by.
