If you looked into the heart of your enemy, what do you think you would find that is different from what is in your own heart?

I would find coldness in my enemies hearts.  Cold, calculating coldness.

I don't really have an enemy. If I had to pick someone I was quarrelling with, I would see lots of sadness and unhappiness. That is why my mother is out of my life.

I am not sure.  Sometimes, people hurt others because they are hurt. And sometimes we might be shocked to find that person is more like us than we think, depending on the person or situation. They just learned to deal with the pain differently.  I don't have any enemies per se, except one person who hates me for no reason. But i really know that she has been hurt a lot and is lonely and wants what I have, not out of spite but because she needs love and acceptance. So I just let it go and when she no longer wanted to be my friend, due to no fault of my own. I let her go, but I will never stop praying for her. Her words were untrue, unkind and hurtful. But I recognized she did it out of her own pain.

Probably extreme hurt from somewhere (and doesn't know how to let it go) that caused that person to be mean.
