I have had this weird sort of pain in my upper back between my shoulder blades that radiates from my back to my chest and left shoulder and arm, also a little on my neck and jaw for about 2-3 days now. Of course I'm thinking HEART ATTACK, well I finally went to the ER today and they did an EKG and an XRay of my chest, everything came back normal. But the pains in my upper back and chest are still coming and going. I'm really scared, the Dr said it could just be musculoskeletal pain in other words something like muscle spasm. Should I be really worried or should I relax? Could they have possibly missed something? I'm scared :,(

Sounds like a pinched nerve. They can drive you mad b/c they sometimes resemble the symptoms of a heart attack.

Have you asked about trying out a TENS unit? Those can work wonders for pain that is similar in what you're describing! I used one when I was cheering/running track, because my neck and back would be in horrible pain. I have been wanting to get another unit, now that I am 27 and have three kiddies, but haven't gotten around to it. They send little electrical pulses through your muscles/nerves and help relieve some of the pain. I am sorry you're in pain and they can't find an answer. That's never any fun. Have you looked into getting a second opinion?

Have you seen a chiropractor? Sounds like that would be beneficial!!

There are a few things it could be.  I'd follow up with your primary physician.

I have pains just like that, middle of my back and down my left arm, I have pinched nerve and 2 herniated discs in my neck. I would definately be getting a second opinion. I was going through pain for years before they finally figured out everything that was wrong with me. It's very scary, and I understand what you're going through. HUGS :)

Maybe a pulled muscle, I had that when I was working and it took a long time for it to heal.
