This is very fitting to my specific situation right now.  We have a job opening at work for something I would love to do, but I haven't applied because they say they want someone with a masters.  My coworkers are encouraging me, my boss even encouraged me, but I am afraid to take the chance because I hate hearing no.

I just need a little shot of courage.

Momma, you need to try for it!  They will probably be thrilled to have you apply, because in-house talent makes good sense, and they won't have to get accustomed to someone new.  I would also think they'd make an exception to the Master's qualification because you have documented work experience in lieu of that.  Good luck!!
