Random PS3 help needed.

I may sound like a nimrod, but in order to hook up a PS3 to a tv, do you only need the HDMI cable & the power cable?  That's all we used for our livingroom tv, but when I hooked it up to a different TV, it says "No signal" even after rechecking that all the cables weren't loose.  TIA!

I hope that you have it all figured out by now, but if not make sure that the HDMI plug is plugged into the HDMI slot on the back of the PS3.  Then make sure the HDMI cable from the PS3 is plugged into HDMI slot 1 on the back of the tv.  Then tune TV onto HDMI 1.  If your cable is plugged into the HDMI 1 slot then make sure the above is done in HDMI 2 or 3.

Does this make sense?

That's exactly what I did.  :(  There is only one HDMI plug in on the TV.  I didn't know if you needed other cords for older tvs or not.

Maybe for older TVs you need a video input cable (red and yellow) I wish Dh was up because he has one and would know better than me. Hope you get it figured out!

For older tvs you will need to get the red yellow and white cord hookups. This should get it to work. Good luck.

Oh okay!  I would think that if you have an HDMI plug on your tv that that's all you need.  Is your HDMI port working?  Can you plug in say a DVD player into it and have it work?

I think it's our T.V.  The PS3 works perfectly fine in our living room with just the HDMI cable.  When there is an HDMI port it SHOULD work without the R/Y/W cables.  I quit.
