If you could send some good thoughts and/or prayers our way I'd really appreciate it.  My dog Jersey got stolen out of our fenced backyard yesterday *July 3rd*.  I know he got stolen because our padlock on our gate was broken off with what looked like boltcutters.  He had only been out for 15 minutes.  I called both of our animal control places and the cops.  A cop came out and took my report since the padlock was broken off.  At his suggestion I put a "lost dog" ad on Craigslist as well.  He is microchipped, but the cop said that doesn't mean anything around here.  People have stolen dogs especially boxers and pits for dog fighting.  Jersey has just enough boxer in him to look a little like one.

He is still recovering from being fixed.

These are the pics I put on Craigslist.

This is my favorite pic of him:

He's been the only dog that I have truly loved since my sweetheart of a Jack Russell, Rusty, died 15 years ago.  He's the only dog that we have ever had as a married couple and family.  I fostered and adopted him back in March.

I'm just hoping that we find him, and he's okay.  Especially okay tonight as fireworks will be let off.

Thank you in advance for any good thoughts and prayers for his safe return.

***Update---a lady called early this afternoon and said "I think we have your dog."   She said that she found him in her yard hiding last night from the fireworks, took him in her home and this morning took him to her vet.  The vets office found the microchip in him and she called me when she got out of the vet.  She brought Jersey right to me!  He has just been laying down most of the day and seems to be very happy to be home.  Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers!!***

Oh I know!  I was beginning to think that he WAS taken for dog fighting :/

The microchipping is a wonderful invention.  The last time I had a dog, microchipping wasn't available, or at least not that I was aware of.  I was still a kid, lol.  That was over 15 years ago.

Quoting MusherMaggie:

I'm so glad!  So many stories like this don't have such happy endings!  Definitely worth the microchipping!

OMG I know!  He got stolen on Tuesday and I went to see the kids that evening.  I didn't tell them about him.  I'm glad I didn't.  Now when they get home it will be like he never got stolen to them.  They still haven't played with him yet. :(

I'm so glad too!!

Quoting opal10161973:

With everything else going on with you right now, that would have just been so tragic, if you lost the dog.  I am so glad that he was found and you have him back.
