Hello everyone!,
My name is Krystal. I am 23 years old and I am 20 weeks and 5 days pregnant with a baby boy. This is my first child and I am very excited!! Along with my excitement is a lot of new scary changes, and a million questions. So far my pregnancy has been super easy. I've only had morning sickness a few times, and was only wore out in my first trimester. I'm now experiencing some new changes with my body now that I am starting to show. The most recent is extreame back pain in my lower back on my right side. It hurts so bad I am in and out of bed all day trying to ease the pain. I went to the ER the very first time this happend and they tested me for a uti and kidney infection, and said it was just pregnancy pain. It seems to be continuing and sometimes gets worse. It's not my spine its i guess I'm the love handle area and I don't know what to think of it. If anyone has any info please help. Thank you!!!

Being pregnant for the first time, your muscles are stretching and things are moving to new places.  It sucks!  For me, I found that the more active I was, the better the pain was.

Your uterus could be tilted to the back, the baby could be sitting on your back, there's different things that could be why it hurts.

If it is bothersome, you are able to take tylenol for pain. No motrin or aspirin

I had this with my first pregnancy the baby was sitting on a nerve or something. Doc said to take a warm bath then get on your hands and knee's like a dog and kind of roll your hips in a circle or have your DH push on the part that's hurting & it will move the baby off! I also found that the more I walked, did light pregnancy stretching, & a few pregnancy exercises 3-4 days a week it helped tremendously

Thank you all for the advice. The pain is still there this morning. Last night I layed on my right side and rubbed it with a vibrating back massager, that helped enough for me to fall asleep. As I said the pain is still there though. Tylonol has never worked for me so that option is out. And I have been trying to take light walks everyday. They don't really ease the pain but they are relaxing and comforting, I've always enjoyed walking, and with this pregnancy I went from walking 18 miles per night to almost none. I do have a doctors appointment tomorrow so hopefully they can help too. Thanks for all the advice it eased my mind a lot!!!

I still don't have an ob :(. I'm going to pick one Monday. I've had a few family emergancies happen so I had to take care of that stuff first. But I am back to focusing on my pregnancy. And up untill last week everything has been. He is now starting to move a lot more and this morning I did feel him moving on the right side, he's mostly been on my left side up untill now. So I'm thinking it is just streaching and weight.

Congratulations - this really is an exciting time! The pain could be pressure on a nerve. Speak to your Dr and see what advice (s)he gives.

hello my name is brittany I am a massage therapist and I have worked at a chiropractor for 3 year. i now have a 6 month old daughter and I have always suffered from low back pain...... you need to do daily stretches, walk, drink lots of water, sit on an exercise ball, get massages and go to a great chiropractor massage and adjustments are 100% ok after first trimester, If you need any suggestions or have any questions feel free to ask
