We have had a lice problem for almost a year and I am at my end with it all.

Please let me assure you I have been a mother for 24 years and have 7 children and 5 grand children, I know what lice is and how to get rid of it....ususally

But this years problem is just stumping me, we have done all the things you do...wash bedding, spray everywhere including carseats backpacks floors couches etc....vacumm and throw away the bag,

We have tried RID, DR prescribed shampoo and mayonaise.

We have blow dried their hair til their poor lil heads are hot....(and no I didn't scald them LOL)

Seriously I cannot get rid of the problem...please help if you have any new ideas or reasons I am missing...I appreciate all the advice I can get

Wash EVERYTHING, throw away stuffed animals, treat car seats, furniture, I used lice ice as a preventative all school year and my girl's never got it.

I heard the lice are becoming immune to the shampoo and this is making it very hard to get rid of.  You are doing everything right, we had a re infestation before and it was because I didn't put the girls stuff animals in a plastic bag and they were sleeping w/them and of course SURPRIZE more lice!   have you tried vaseline on their head?  smear the head and put a plastic cap over it for about 10 minutes and reapply in a week, it worked for me and you may have to do some more research on the problem.  GL been there and its a PAIN!!!

Are you having trouble combing the nits out to help get rid of them? If so, try a VO5 hot oil treatment too and while the hair is oily use the special comb to pull them off.

Look at the lice.

Are they all white-ish or is there a brown color to them?

Brown color means they are immune to the poison, etc. :(
