is this normal?

I had my first child in November of 2011. I strictly breast fed and knew that could cause me to not have a period for awhile, or atleast until I quit. I breast fed for two months, and my little one is now 8mobths old and I STILL have not had but one period. However, I was put on a birth control for breast feeding moms and I'm still on it. Is this normal?!

The birth control is Nora-BE Watson. And I only breast fed her till she was two months old. I've mentioned it to him, but he said that one lady he had didn't have a period for a year after... I go for a check up next week... But not having me period when I thought I should after 6 months worries me. Especially when I take my birthcontrol at the same time(alarm set) everyday!! :/

I didn't have mine for 18months but then again dd was breast fed the whole time.

I breast fed all 6 of my kids and my oldest was breast fed until she was 11, I did not start my period right away, it was some time later. As I recall I would go months in between sometimes 3/4 months without a period. I would ask your doctor just in case.
