Overwhelmed with moving in...

I have so many boxes to unpack .. laundry to fold and put away, organizing to do.. a wild and very active 10 month old, a sick SO and I have very little sanity to handle it all today. I need this house to finally be in order.

I haven't quite gotten into a routine yet here at the new house, give me some suggestions on how I can tackle putting boxes away and still entertaining DD, some boxes she can't get into, however, because of SO's music equipment and breakable things. I am sitting here eating my breakfast and having my morning coffee fix trying to figure this all out, I want today to be productive..

I moved in May and I had to unpack a huge majority of it due to my husband working a lot. So I would tackle one room at a time starting wit the main parts of the house. Livingroom, kitchen, and places in plain view. Then the master and so on. I would unpack everyday and it just came together over a couple weeks time. I was very pregnant too so there were some extra challenges;) Good luck, it will come together.

Focus on the baby while she is awake and work on the house while she naps or is entertained.

I will probably start in her room first, have lots of blankets and stuffed animals to put away in her room. This way she can play with anything I unpack.

I love unpacking and putting things where I want them to go.  It's the packing I can't stand :/

This....and I was going to suggest letting her 'fold' socks or washcloths, or 'unpack' plastic items in the kitchen if she HAS to be doing what you are doing.  Then you can unpack other stuff when she is occupied with something else or napping.  It'll come together....look at all you get done, big or small, as a step forward.  Don't get discouraged...good luck, Momma!

Also, remember how magical an empty box is for a child :)

The empty boxes could be her new fort.  Give her some washable markers and let her go to town decorating them.  Add a pile of crinkled news paper to hide in and she may be entertained for hours.

I'm packing up my apartment with my 3 year old. Lol! We are getting a bigger place. Have to be out October 1. And I have dental surgery on September 17. Thats going to push things. I'm sure I'll be where you are soon. Lol! I hate the packing part.
