Have you felt any quakes today?
Are you in the area of the quakes?
EARTHQUAKES UPDATE: A swarm of quakes continue to rattle Imperial County at the U.S.-Mexico border. More than 200 so far, the latest a magnitude 4.3, just a few moments ago.
It's not over yet -- they started about 8:30 a.m., there were 40 alone in the last hour and they are expected to continue, experts say.
It's highly unlikely anyone in L.A. will feel them, but they may be felt in Orange and Riverside counties.
Fortunately, we're in San Bernardino County, approximately 150 miles northwest of the epicenter. We haven't felt any of the quakes. They'd probably have to be in the 5.8 and above range for us to feel them from so far away, and I've heard that the highest so far was a 5.5 magnitude. I've been watching the news, and the damage they've suffered in Brawley is pretty concerning. Fortunately, I haven't heard any reports of injuries or deaths. They are certainly in my thoughts and prayers.
We had a seismic swarm a lot closer to us several weeks ago. We only felt a couple of the quakes (4.5 and above, I think), though.
