Dog?

I have 2 cats and a 3 year old. Both husband and I have $8 an hour jobs. We make enough to have in the bank and even put a little away in the savings. We live in a double-wide trailer park that allows dogs up to 15lbs. I just know they are a lot of responsibility. Currently we are looking at a Terrier Mix that is 10lbs. What do you think? Yes? No?

Idk. In the end only you and him can make that decision. Just make sure you can properly take care of the dog. Food, vet, etc.

Yes good answer.

Corgi's are cute!

Quoting 1CrazyCajun:

Terriers are high energy breeds and like PP said can get nippy. Have you seen the Corgi's? I had two growing up. They have lots of energy to play, but they are also content to sit on your lap. Going to a shelter is a great idea !

If you can afford to care for it properly, than I guess go for it. Like others have said having a Terrier might not be the best idea though...If you get a high energy dog and you guys aren't there to walk it and exercise it, it will most likely cause behavior issues.

If you can afford it, I say go for it.

Dogs are a lot of responsibility. I know my dog (black lab) eats twice a day! She's a little chubby. lol

Then again... feeding a 10lb dog would be different from a 60+lb dog  : )

Thanks! It's a great way to find out which dog is best for the family, plus adopting a shelter pet is always better.

Quoting Crissy2424:

Yea, that is a great idea.

Quoting merryvoice:

I would suggest taking your little one to a shelter and see which dog will get along with him/her.

I'd get an older dog,not a puppy, and I'd look for the kind that don't shed,a poodle type blend. I think dogs are wonderful for children to have around. It might get pretty lonely though unless you work opposite shifts.
