Doula Service anyone?

I have seen tons of websites about these doulas services and I thought they were very interesting. I was wondering what do you think about them? Should I give it a try? Have anyone of you tried doula services? Is it necessary if I am a new time mom? Or should I just wing it with my instincts?

I have never had a doula and I have 5 kids.  I've heard they can be helpful though.

I think that for a person who wants one, a doula is a great idea!  Especially if trying to do a natural birth - it would make a huge difference!

I have never had one and I don't even know anyone personally that has.

I found the website that a friend of a friend has sent to me through email. http://www.lacareoncall.com/postpartum-doula/ She says that the owner is really good.Back to my doula research.

Thanks for sharing that with me. I'll look into it. I am still on edge about what a day would be like having a doula.

You can always find a doula in your area to meet. Most the time we like to meet just to talk and all first. It is kind of like an interview because you always want to make sure everyone "clicks". Doesn't hurt to try and learn. :)
