I loooove southern accents. My Gran was from Alabama and I miss her. Those of you with strong Southern accents, where are you from?

I'm originally from California (and live there now), but I lived in Huntsville, AL for about ten years when I was a kid.   I still have a bit of the accent I developed there, even though I've been back in CA for over 10 years.  I can't stand it!

NC. I have a very strong Southern accent that gets stronger when I'm talking to my mom, who still lives in NC. I'm in WA state now.

My husband has a huge southern accent and he's from Maysville, Ky. In KY terms, people don't think I have one but when I went to FL people always said they loved it. I'm from Lexington, KY. The more east and south, it can get really thick, y'all!

West-by God-Virgina, LOL! Actually, I never thought I had an accent till I moved away. People always point it out to me now, so I kind of think it's cool. A little part of home I carry with me always! :)

I relocated from Ohio to Tennessee 14 years ago. My older friends think I've grown an accent, but my hubby (born in Florida) and our daughter (born in Tennessee ) think I still talk likee a Yankee.
