No Childproofing

No responsible parent brings a baby into the house these days without ensuring the electrical outlets are covered, the stair gates are locked and the cleaning supplies are out of reach. When our moms were large and in charge and we were kids? It was every man, woman and child for themselves. Got a headache? Go pick out one of my pretty-colored pills and swallow it, honey.

No Car Seats

We didn’t wear seatbelts, so you can bet your bottom dollar that hospitals did nothing to ensure our parents took us home after we were born strapped into car seats. If we weren’t being held in the front seats (by our moms who weren't wearing seat belts), we dangled precariously in the back seat, and everyone hoped for the best.

Or playing outside from the break of day until the street lights came on, without fear of being snatched.
