Dna tests for ancestry?

Has anyone done one? Im waiting for my results from an ancestry site. My mom got hers back last week and there were a few surprises! Lol.. Its very interesting and was only $99.. Oh and it shows you dna matches of possible cousins!

I've never done one.   However, I have professional genealogists on both sides of my family, and they've traced our ancestry back a few hundred years.

I REALLY want to do that! My mom did one awhile ago, but all it said was that she was 100% European. Nothing specific.

I you do the ancestry.com one they tell you which european.. They have west,east and southern. Plus they break up asia as well into parts. So you get a breakdown of about 3 or 4 nations you match with. My mom was 60% european mostly southern and amazingly 20% scandinavian. She always thought she was mexican but is super white with green eyes and red hair..lol so obviuously she was mistaken..lol.. She got some middle eastern most likely from her jewish dads side.
