At what age is it too old to be spanking your kids?

I remember when I was 5 years old, my step dad would spank his 16 or 17 year old son.

Would you spank your older children if you thought it was working?

Not sure I even want to get into this but I will throw this out there. I doubt I would or will spank my kids when they are older. However all middle and high schools in our county spank. Having subed in those school I knew many hs seniors getting the butts warmed.

I would punish them with a punishment but not spank them every parent is different

At age 16 my son outweighted me by about 50 pounds and was 8 inches taller than me, attempting to spank him would have been more comical. So I guess my answer is, when they outweight you its time to stop!

If it works for the older child, yes. I remember my mom taking a belt to my older brother when he was a teenager but she just gave him acouple whacks on the neck, not on the butt. But with some kids that are older a punishment such as grounding or taking a way a phone might work better....

No way, that's too old, I'll be fist fighting with them at that age. ;) I don't even really spank my kids much now, they're 7,7,4 and 1.
