7 cents?!

My husband works for a local cable company. He has to work outside all year around. So last summer he went to a customers apt. When he went to knock on the door 20 yellow jackets stung him! The customer said, 'Yeah there a big next under the steps, I get stung all the time.' So my husband told her that she needed to call her landlord and get that taken care of before he could fix her problem. He came home early that day took some meds and slept for almost a full day. Well then when he woke up his hands and arms were swollen. He took his own sick time off. WELL, he only got a seven 7 cent raise this year b/c of this incident! He had to go to that house twice, two seperate bee incidents. Seriously?! I can't believe that this can be held against him.

I didn't realize their productivity and customer service counted against them like that. My dh company will hold it against managers bonus if they have recordables. So you can imagine there is a disincentive to report injuries.

Can an employer really do thar? Sounds like his employer is very unappreciative of there employees!

Wow that's really really lame. He probably should have done a worker's comp claim when it happened, but I can't believe that'd be held against him.
