What is your opinion on people who claim unemployment? Do you feel as if it's the same as welfare or public assistance? Better? Worse? I've just never ever seen so many people bash on people who really need help, GETTING a little help. So I guess I'm curious as to how you feel about Unemployment Benefits. Let me know.

I guess because in order to get unemployment you have to work. Where for welfare, you don't work.

Unemployment sucks. My husband was fired due to the company having too many people and not enough work but they told unemployment that he quit so that he wouldn't get anything.

So is that why people don't bash it as much? Coz I guess I could see that. I have seen people talk shit about others being on UE but it does require you to a work a DAMN good amount before being able to get any decent benefits.

Wow that's so fucked up. He should've figured out some slick way to prove that he didn't quit. Like he could've called up there and recorded the convo and said something like "so I was just really confused and wanted to ask again exactly why I was fired bc I really liked working with your company dadadadada" I have seen a lot of bs where companies try to pull some slick shit so their employees won't get ue.

We don't have to, we have the voicemail. But we tried to appeal and they just gave us hoops to jump through.

I don't really have an opinion on it.

It did not even occur to me to go for it year ago when our company cut our entire department.... I knew I had another job lined up, but I did have a few weeks home in between jobs.

I guess I was so happy to be home with my second son for summer I did not care! Lol!

I believe tax dollars should help people, not go to wars or making the banks richer. Some people call me socialist and I don't care anymore, I'm fine with the title even though I don't like everything about socialism. I like some socialist beliefs and some capitalists, I think most people are like this.  A lot of people who don't agree with welfare are not looking at the big picture, they never really needed help before so its harder for them to understand a person in need or some just don't take "hand outs" as they claim.  I believe we our a community and we need to help another. I guess this question wasn't really meant for me but I wanted to put in my 2 cents anyway.
