I remember teasing that she lived my brother more than me and she always said no she loves us the same, and now with my own kids asking the same thing, her words always come to mind.

my mom always said "A cold lasts 7 days or a week, whichever is longer"...

It's true, at least for me and the kids :)

As long as you have hands and feet. You don't need public assistance.

I was a very shy girl when I was young and would come home from school crying because "no one played with me." My mom once told me, "no one will come to you, you have to throw yourself in the circle and be the one to try to make friends." To this day, as an adult woman, whenever I'm uncomfortable or feeling shy, I "throw myself in" and try to make others feel at ease!

My mom isn't big on advice, but my friends mom gave us 2 good ones.
1. Watch how a man treats his mother because that's how he'll treat you.
2. Men want a lady in the drawing room and a whore in the bedroom. Don't confuse the two.

I was lucky to have a few mother figures in my life, each very different and had a special view on life.

My mother: Let sibilings be siblings, they will fight but don't worry they won't kill each other and they will work it out cuz they are family and there is nothing more important than that.

My stepmother: Treat others how you want to be treated, walk in others shoes you never know what demons they might be facing.

My grandmother: Family is loyalty, and if your brother or sister asks you for something you don't ask questions you trust they had good reason, stand by them no matter what.

She always told me that it's important to be beautiful on the inside and not just worry about the outside.
