do they give psych evaluations before they hire an armed security guard?

I have an acquaintance who wants to be an armed security guard but she is a little psychotic. She also has explosive anger. If the tone in your voice is wrong towards her she's pissed off at you for the rest of your life. I'm wondering if they do psych evaluations if she could even get a job with a gun. Does anyone know from personal experience? If she ever gets a gun I wouldn't come within 10 miles of her.

No clue!

That doesn't really sound like the best job for her though...

Yes they do, plus lie detector tests, at least Brantley did.

In order to be able to carry a weapon, one must clear a psychological exam.

My husband didn't have to take a psych eval but he had to put in 2000 hours before he could qualify to be armed. You would think in that time they would be fired for problems like that.

It depends on the company, but yes, most do. There is too much liability at stake if a company is sued because a security guard under their employ goes off the deep end and hurts someone. And thank God for that. I know of a few people I wouldn't get near if they had a gun within their reach.

Probably all depends on who is doing the hiring...
