Born in 81, and yea... it did carry over, some. I remember using hair barettes (bows and such with the metal clips on the back, or hair scrunchies) to cinch my shirt at the hip, that is - if I didn't have the actual shirt cinchers... (the plastic circle with a bar across the middle to weave the bottom side of your shirt through) 

(I didn't think it would be that hard to explain lol)

I was born in 1990 and I remember some of these in the early 90s as well. I was also raised by my mom who was a teen all through the 80s. My favorite show was the muppet babies and I grew up watching 80s movies

My youngest is 12 and he still got excited about getting Scholastic book order forms this past year!  lol

my kids are growing up with '80s movies and they were born in the 2000s (well my oldest was born in '99) lol

I buy a lot of the movies too and their favorites are goonies and labyrinth
