Has anyone ever heard of an inmate being released early from their sentence due to them dying of a terminal illness?
I've heard it's possible, but it depends on your crime. If it's a heinous crime, I don't think they get released. But with misdemeanors, or less serious crimes (i.e., didn't kill anyone) I've heard they can get sent home to their family. Not sure it's accurate though.
yes, we have a client in the law office that i work at that was released early just this week. He has terminal tongue and throat cancer and has only been given a few weeks to live.
