ex's demands

So the minute I literally wake up I receive a text from my sons father saying he is still mad that I wouldn't pay for his side of the family for my sons party so he is saying he wants to throw our son a party (which I am fine with) but that I should cover the costs for his party because I refused to pay for his side of the family for the party that I had.

The reason I didn't pay for his side of the family is because he claimed he wanted a joint party which means if we are throwing a party together he should pay for his half of the family joint means sharing costs not I pay for everything and he is responsible for nothing I think it's ridiculous that he thinks I should pay for his party. What do you all think?

I think I would have to ignore him. He can pay for his own party.

You answered your own question. Your ex is an idiot.

I thought your ex wasn't putting in the effort for the kid to have a relationship with his family.

I'd never have a joint party with my ex to begin with because I know that I'd end up doing all the work and paying for it all, also.  Since you already threw a party, I would tell him to go screw himself and pay for his party all by himself.
